Over sleeping or normal ??

My baby girl is going to be 3 weeks old tmrw and I wanted to know if it’s normal for her to sleep for 8 hours or more I try to wake her up to eat but she doesn’t want to wake up 😭 it’s so stressful just wondering if other mommies can relate?

A 3 week old really shouldn’t go more than 4hrs between night feeds (and 2-3hrs during the day). 
Babes sugars can drop while they sleep making it hard for them to recognize they need food. 
Get them naked, cold washcloth on them, diaper change, tickle toes…some things to try.

In my opinion i would wake her if its been more than 4 hours. A baby who sleeps through the night immediately has a higher chance of sids. Thats why waking up is so important for newborns.

I would say as long as shes gaining weight its fine. I have a sleepy girl as well. Has slept through the night since she was born and now shes 7 weeks. But i still got her up every 2 hours the first month. At her 1 month appointment she had good weight gain so the dr said she can sleep as long as she wants now

Generally for the first month it is recommended to wake to eat every 3h.
Are you bottle feeding or breastfeeding? Has baby regained birth weight?
