Is it too early to choose a name?

At 16 weeks my partner and I decided on a name for our baby boy. My boyfriend mentioned that we had done so to his mom (but didn’t share the name because we’re most likely not doing that until he’s born) who said it was too early to pick out a name and that we’re bound to change our minds. I really don’t think we will, as the name we chose has been my favorite for many years and my partner really likes it too. What do y’all think?

No lol i had a boy and a girl name picked before 12 weeks lol you have nothing better else to do in the first trimester 😂

Nope. We didn't pick our daughter's name until we knew she was a girl. We had our son's name picked before we even knew he was a boy. This baby we had our boy and girl named picked a year before we even got pregnant. Kept baby team green until birth (born Sept 26th.) Our 2nd son 💙 Guess what, never changed our mind on the names we picked for him almost 2 years ago.

Definitely meant to click no need to wait. My fiancé and I had our daughters first name picked out the day we found out she was a girl. And people gave us shit about the spelling of her name. And guess what? We still didn’t change it. 
When you know you know. And if you do change it, no biggie. I was set on the name Jaxton for my son until I was 8 months pregnant. My fiancé and I changed his name to Odin literally 2 weeks before he was born. So glad we didn’t name him Jaxton lol 
I liked the name Orion but my fiancé didn’t and he was like what about Odin? And I fell in love with it and was like yep that’s the one! I loved that it could be shortened to a nickname. Odi. And his nickname is his initials. O.D. for Odin Daniels. And he’s named after the God of Wisdom. Thats what made choosing our daughters name so easy. We named her after the Goddess of Summer. She was born in July and has red hair just like Áine. It was perfect. But yes, we kept the Celtic spelling so if you’re not familiar with Irish names, you likely wouldn’t know how to pronounce it. The English translation of the spelling is Anya. But if we changed the spelling, it would change the significance of it, so that’s why we kept it as is 🤷‍♀️
