Milk alternatives for 1 year old?

I will be weaning my LO off of breast milk at 1 however, I’m not a fan of cows milk myself. What other alternatives are out there that are best for 1 year olds ? Something just as nutritious.

Agree with another comment. Not all milk substitutes have the fat content or the nutrients needed for brain development. Pediatricians recommend whole milk because 80% your child’s brain development happens before age 3 and they need the higher fat and protein content to support proper brain growth. Fortified soy beverages are the only milk alternative that help meet a child’s recommended dairy needs. Choose one that is unflavored and unsweetened. Your child does not need added sugars. And check labels, since nutrient content can vary between brands, be sure to choose one that contains vitamin D and calcium. Almond milk has 70-80% fewer calories and 2-3 grams more sugar than regular milk. Not the best option imo.

Animal milk is more nutritious than any fake milks like almond milk. Almond milk is sugar water. Doctors are not nutritionist.

Cows milk is the most nutritious you can have and is recommended. Just because you don't like something doesn't mean you should restrict your child. My mother doesn't like most foods including milk, but she didn't keep us from them. My oldest is highly allergic to milk and every single nutritionist, dietitian, and GI doctor we've spoken to have all agreed that due to her allergy the safest thing for her is unsweetened unflavored almond milk. Oat milk its hard on the GI tract of toddlers and can cause a lot of diarehha leading to dehydration. Soy is a common allergen and comparing the nutrients almond milk its better. Being on almond milk instead of cows milk also means my oldest is lacking in nutrients that I have to work very hard to replace in her diet which is hard to do as most toddlers are very picky creatures. From personal experience I recommend you use cows milk if there isn't an allergy.

Pediatrician told me almond milk. We used the vanilla almond and my daughter loved it when wouldn't touch cows milk
