Can you take a bath postpartum?

This might be a dumb question, but is it ok to take a bath at 4 weeks postpartum? I had a natural vaginal delivery with no real tearing. They said I had a few small lacerations, but nothing that needed repair. They never said anything about when soaking in a tub would be ok, and I didn't think to ask.

My midwives helped give me a bath a few hours after I gave birth. Also I used healing herbs in my baths after that point as well and I had stitches. Bath is fine unless you had a c-section.

I was told multiple times and it was in my discharge paperwork to not bathe or soak until cleared at my 6 week check up.

Talk with your doctor or midwife. I was told baths were fine and I was encouraged to take warm epsom salt baths to help heal after all 3 of my vaginal deliveries. My nightly bath was a lifesaver. I’m not sure where this idea comes from. It’s not like water can just gush up your vagina and into your uterus. Unless you have a prolapse or something…
