Quitting breastfeeding after 2 weeks?

I’m super conflicted with what to do. Before I had my son (baby #2) I decided I wanted to EBF. That didn’t work out from the start as I noticed I could not express anything from my breasts (not even colostrum) until a few days after baby was born, so we ended up giving him some formula to supplement. My supply seemed to catch up as I could pump out around 3oz total each session a few days after everything came in, but baby is having horrible latching issues and my supply has dropped already 14 days postpartum. We saw the pediatrician at his 2 week check up and he’s still under his birth weight, only gaining 3oz in 2 weeks. She did not see any ties but mentioned he has a very weak suck and was most likely just pacifying himself on the breast.

He’s been on bottles only for the past few days and seems so much happier. I’m debating whether it’s even worth consulting a lactation specialist or if we should just stop trying to breastfeed and have him strictly on formula. It would make life so much easier with a 2 year old and also knowing baby boy is getting what he needs. I know I do not want to exclusively pump, but I was looking forward to the bonding experience breastfeeding provides because I did not get it with my first.

Any experience with poor latching or opinions? I greatly appreciate it because I feel so lost.
