D & C does anyone have experience ?

I unfortunately have to be put under and have a D&C on Monday at 13 weeks pregnant. Im obviously completely heart broken and devastated but im also just really scared to get this done. Does anyone have experience with this procedure and the recovery after you wake up? Is there anything that helps that I should get beforehand?
