@Britt, What you are describing is female ejaculation, it is not the same as squirting. From the early 2000’s various research studies were able to separate the two types of fluid.

The Skene’s gland is also called the female prostate gland because it comes from the same tissue that forms the male prostate, and it produces the same type and quantity of fluid than the male prostate - about a teaspoon of white or clear sweet tasting fluid. This fluid is called female ejaculate and releasing it is called female ejaculation. Of course, it does not contain sperm like the male ejaculate.

During sexual stimulation, oxygen rich blood flow to the female pelvic organs increases greatly and the endocrine system goes into overdrive, filling the bladder rapidly. This can be observed from fMRI studies done on couples and individuals being sexually stimulated in laboratory conditions. This fluid is slightly cleaner than normal urine because of how quickly it is produced. That explains why it is very light in color. When this releases, it may include some of the female ejaculate already present in the urethra. This is why earlier researchers found prostatic antigens called PSA in the fluid and causing all the confusion in the late 80's early 90's.

There is not a gland that can produce the quantity of fluid in squirting on demand anywhere in the human body. Not the male prostate, and not the female prostate (aka paraurethral glands or Skene's glands). The sheer volume of squirt is often greater than the total volume of the female prostate gland. This should already give you a hint that something else is going on.

* When you feel like you are going to pee, don't hold back but push it out

* Rub the front wall of your vagina firmly (right there were you put pressure on your bladder and the valve that keeps the bladder closed)

It is also fairly easy for you to test it yourself. Let it dry and smell it. You will get the typical dry urine smell, or even better, taste it. I promise it won't kill you, even though urine does not taste good.

I suppose the truth does not sell books, magazines, self-help courses, videos, or make for sensational reading, but the science has moved on from it already.

Squirting is a very normal part of some women's sexual response. As such it is nothing to be ashamed about. It can increase the pleasure from an orgasm greatly for some. It can however also be a hindrance for some, especially when it happens before orgasm, or from something like just plain clitoral stimulation during foreplay or sex. As long as everybody involved is healthy, happy and concenting, anything goes.

Squirt smell
