Implant or Patch?

Would you recommend the birth control implant or the patch for the most effective birth control option?

The implant does its job at not getting pregnant and everyone’s bodies are different but it was pretty bad for me. The first 3/4 months was constant bleeding with maybe a week or so off here and there. I gained almost 30 pounds on it, and I honestly think it messed with me mentally as well with my depression/anxiety. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it to someone else but it works for some without those side effects.

I have the implant. I had constant bleeding for the first 4 months. And then after that my periods lasted waay longer than normal. It took a little over a year for my periods to sort itself out. No my periods are irregular but light. I take some ibuprofen through out the day for a couple days to help stop the bleeding if I find that my periods are going on for longer than expected and that usually helps. 
When I first started the implant, it was tough for me emotionally. I had really bad depression but I kept with it. I didn’t gain any weight on it either. But all in all, I do like it, I like how effective it is.

The implant would be most effective, at 99.9%. Which is just as effective as having ur tubes tied. Just be aware that progestin only methods like the implant are most known for causing irregular bleeding/spotting patterns. This can include longer time frames with or without bleeding (including no bleeding at all), random bleeding, or frequent bleeding, at any given time, regardless of ur previous patterns. Whereas, combination methods like the patch are more known for giving regulated bleeding patterns, particularly after the first initial 3-6 months. Research the methods, weigh the pros & cons of each, and discuss it all with ur doctor.

the implant to me is the devil! Everyone reacts differently. I have become more anxious on this and the spotting is ridiculous. I am removing this.

Implant . I had no side effects since I’ve been getting them at about 17 and I’m 27 now . Definitely should have been pregnant by now if it wasnt effective

I have the implant and I didn’t get a period for first  8 months after it was inserted and now I get one every two months very light and last a couple of days. As everyone says we all react differently but I prefer this birth control because it has affected me less than the pills did. I am mostly myself and on pills I was always emotional.

Everyone’s bodies reacts differently to birth control. You need to decide what’s best for you; if you think you like the implant better then get that if you think the patch then do that! I personally chose the patch over the implant because when I had the implant I bleed the whole time with one or two days off a month. It was not fun for me. It also made me a bit moody and my anxiety rise.
