I did feed, swaddle, white noise, darkened room. Then super gently set down in bassinet or crib. Sometimes that didn’t work and baby got upset as soon as they were set down, then I would pre-heat baby’s spot in the crib/bassinet with a heating pad, remove it, and lay baby in the warm spot. That sometimes worked. Otherwise I would rock baby to sleep swaddled and wait until baby was asleep for a solid 15-20 minutes before setting down. Thankfully this phase doesn’t last forever, it’s just crappy chugging along with such short chunks of sleep.

Mine wouldn't sleep in his crib at all for the first 3 or 4 weeks. Me and my partner took it in turns to stay up with him asleep on us. We had a rule that we would try 3 times to get him down and then give up. Eventually he went down in the crib. Good luck x

Feeding them to sleep worked the best for both of my kids. Otherwise, rocking, singing, and shushing helped. Also knowing how to gently set them in their crib/bassinet is crucial. Its completely normal for newborns to only sleep 20, 40, or 60 min at a time so you didnt "fail" if they only slept for 20 min after you put them down. Hang in there mama!
