Kinda crazy birth story
I don’t want to scare anyone I just want to share my birth story. This was my 3rd birth but first time with no epidural and no form of induction.
I was having contractions that started at 3am December 1st and continued to get stronger and closer but still staying a bit inconsistent. I went in to the hospital at 5pm and was told I was at 1-2cm dilated but started to progress fast. I had her at 9:30pm. I chose no epidural which I regretted a little when I started pushing. Baby’s heart rate dropped low with every contraction so at 8-9cm my doctor said he wanted me to try pushing. I pushed several times and it was going ok but then she got stuck. I was hurting horribly and screaming at this point and it took my husband and a nurse to hold me on the bed while I continued to push. My doctor had to reach into my uterus and adjust her while I was pushing. He then informed me that her cord was wrapped around her neck twice and around one shoulder. I have to add that somehow didn’t tear which is insane to me. I’m so very lucky I have a great doctor because it could have ended a lot differently. He told me afterwards that it saved her life pushing her out when I did. (Which I believe is true no matter what anyone says.) We are doing well now. Trying to rest the best we can.
I think I’m going to be a mess when it hits me over the next couple of days just how crazy it was. 😅
