Pregnant and 40

TW - mention of previous miscarriages and blood clotting

We found out yesterday at 11 DOP.

We also got to see my OBGYN Nurse yesterday. Sucks being high risk and the advocating I had to do to get to this point is disgusting. After one spontaneous miscarriage, one successful pregnancy in 2018, then 4 consecutive 11 week miscarriages between 2020-2023, I finally found a high risk OBGYN to take my experience seriously.

With the September pregnancy they ran labs and turns out I have three blood clotting markers, one being MTHFR. They immediately started me on baby aspirin, progesterone, and was planning to start Lovenox shots as soon as a heartbeat was detected. Sadly we never got to that point before we lost the pregnancy.

We excitedly found out yesterday we are pregnant again! I text my OBGYN Nurse and she immediately sent in Lovenox and Progesterone Rx. I headed to their office to learn how to give the shot. Oh holy cow- I’m not good at needles, like actual phobia. I know this is necessary and I will overcome but oh it’s going to be a challenge. Anyone else on Lovenox shots? Any advice???
