Mono/di and I’m confused
Ok so I found out Nov 28th at 11 weeks pregnant, we are expecting TWINS! Very excited. And scared lol. They sent me that same day (Nov 28th) to a bigger hospital to do I better ultrasound because their ultrasound machine apparently isn’t as good? That’s what they said lol. So yesterday I spoke with them about getting results back on the blood work (before we knew it was twins I wanted the blood work done that would tell us gender and I am impatient lol) I have been having some heart arrhythmia stuff going on so they asked me to come in today to check blood pressure and all that good stuff and that they would talk to me about being transferred to a bigger hospital an hour away for “high risk twin pregnancy” and blood work results. Awesome. So at my appointment today, blood pressure looks good. It wasn’t my dr. It was a different lady that squeezed me in today to check my blood pressure so I’m not sure how much she knows. Well she wanted to do an ultrasound again today and I allowed it. Gave me a bit of peace of mind as I lost twins around 14 weeks in 2013. And then she said she was going to go get information on what dr I will be transferring to and my blood work. She comes back and gives me the new drs information. And said the lady who did my ultrasound last week noted that babies had 1 placenta. 2 sacs. And was considered mono/di twins which of course has risks that come with that like twin to twin transfusion. Yikes. Then after explaining blood work for gender is different with twins because it may pick up boy. But could be boy and girl. Makes sense. Then she asked if we wanted to know what the blood work said for gender. I said yes. She said there is definitely a boy in there. But could he boy/girl or boy/boy…… I come home to do some googling and EVERYTHING says mono/di is definitely identical twins. Which means same gender. So I’m now assuming I’m having identical boys. But that dr said it was a mono/di pregnancy and could be boy/girl or boy/boy…. Shouldn’t she know that mono/di is identical and they’d both have to be boys? I’m confused. I hope I explained this well enough 😬 also enjoy the ultrasound pics from from Nov 28ths appointment ❤️
