The pill not working ?!

I started the pill over a week ago on the first day of my period and since then I haven’t stopped cramping have had brown or red or straight bloody discharge and I started the pill to skip my period for my bday on the 30th I don’t know if I should push through keep taking it or stop taking the pill and I hope I get my period now and not my birthday ? Is this normal anyone got any tips I went to the doctor and he practically told me I’m fine stop complaining push through
