Mediation for cold sore on lip?

Does anyone know of anything that helps with cold sore ? By helping I mean help get rid of it at the moment. I’ve had this for years . I’ve been getting cold sore for years!!!!!!!

Get a rx of Valacyclovir from your doctor. It's the fastest way to clear it up.

I get prescribed Acyclovir to take as needed. Clears it up in like 2 or 3 days. I get them often too. Use to like once a month. Then when i got sick last month i had 4 at one time! There is a chapstick i use to help too.

You might be able to help with the symptoms but if it is a cold sore then it's the same as the herpes virus and you can't really get rid of it.

It’s a lifelong virus. 
Lemon balm tincture helps but nothing will get rid of them immediately.

What do you mean youve had it for years??? Like you have had that exact cold sore for years? The same one?
