can mid cycle spotting delay period?

mid cycle, around ovulation for like 5 days straight I had a lot of spotting and it increased for a little bit, some was pink but the majority of it was brown, I was having unprotected sex but he never came in me and my period is supposed to come on today but I have no signs of it or symptoms like I normally do. I usually have spotting a day or 2 before and sore breasts but this time they’re not appearing on time like they usually do. Do you think the increase in spotting mid cycle pushed it back? (Hopefully) or should I get a test
