Is he targeting my friend?
My ex is my coworker. We’re both managers. But I hate working with him, he’s still controlling and abusive to me that way. It started that he would just lash out at me while we were at work, but I tried to just ignore it. But now I feel like he’s getting worse. Now he throws stuff and kicks stuff around. Freaks out if I talk to other men. It’s a wayyy too common occurrence.
Now I feel like he’s also lashing out at people I’m close with. There’s one guy that I’m close with that he’s vocalized to me he finds the friendship weird. But I don’t entertain his feelings. Now all of a sudden, he’s “a bad worker” whereas before I became his friend, he liked him. The other guy uses Uber to work and the past week, he’s been late because he struggles to find a driver. Now my ex says he doesn’t care about his reason and wants to write him up for every time he is late. (This place is flexible in terms of you being late and stuff - I’ve barely EVER seen anyone get in trouble for it and there’s been WAY worse). If he’s late one more time, he could get terminated. My ex says it’s so he doesn’t have to stay to help the shift, but I feel like he just is targeting him for being my friend and using the “rules” as excuse. When he was late yesterday, my ex was mad that I was still nice to him when he came in. (I can’t just be mean to him tho???)
I hate it. I feel like I can’t have any friends or he loses his mind about it. I’ve talked to our boss but he’s been lazy about addressing it. I have bad luck with jobs and ended up SA’ed at my others, so I’m scared to leave the job.
