Calling CPS tomorrow, in the mean time do I have to give him back
My son's friends parents transferred temporary custody over to me so they could go on a missions trip. They left 4 days ago. He goes to my son's school and they're both in the 8th grade. I noticed right off the back that he's a very quiet kid. He couldn't sleep and asked knocked on my door and said he wanted to tell me something. I asked what's up and he asked me not to send him back to his parents when their trip is over. I asked why and he said his dad does things to him. Inappropriate things. I asked does anyone know and he said his mom and grandparents know, and his mom said if he told anyone they will give him up for adoption and his grandparents told him one day he will be 18 and can leave home and won't have to deal with it anymore. Nobody will help him. He was really emotional and I told him "I believe you." And helped him get back to sleep. I'm planning on calling CPS on the morning. I'm not sure how long it takes CPS to get involved. Especially since they're over seas but if they can't do anything until they get back, do I have to give him back if I suspect he's in danger? Maybe CPS will tell me what to do but I just need to know what to prepare for.
