I've been with my boyfriend for 8 months. He was born and lived in Ireland and moved to France when he was 12 and he came to America a year ago. He did tell me that a friend from France would be coming down here to live with him because she's doing an exchange program for next year. Her parent who are extremely close to his family made a deal to pay his rent completely while she was staying down there with him because they thought she would be safer. I was uneasy but didn't say anything. After all they made this arrangement before we were together. While he was in France so I don't really get a say. She got here last week and will start the semester in fall and she speaks very LITTLE English. Don't you need to know English to be an exchange student? So I don't really have a clue what they are saying. I also don't understand why her parents wouldn't just pay for her to stay in her own place or have her live on dorm. Maybe it's the language barrier but I feel out of place. Especially not knowing what they are saying
