I had my first scan yesterday. I didn’t know how far gone I was as the pregnancy was a total shock (but a lovely one) and I tried to work it out and thought I could’ve been up to 12 weeks so I went for a scan. They told me there was an empty sac and as you can imagine I was completely heartbroken. I had to go to another hospital (as the one I went to for a scan doesn’t have doctors in). There they would tell me my options to ‘get rid’ of the empty sac. When we got there I asked if they could do another scan where they were more than happy to. Cut a very long story short they have now told me that actually the sac is too small to tell if it is actually empty or not. They can’t tell until it’s 25mm and it’s only 20mm at the moment so I have to wait 2 weeks now for it to grow (keep everything crossed) and really hope for the best. They did a pregnancy test and it was still positive with no water infection or anything. I’ve got terrible sickness (which I had on my first), no bleeding so all good signs. Not that I would’ve known but I would’ve been absolutely devastated if I had the pill or procedure for no reason. I could be as early as 7 weeks so it would be too early for anything to show? I’m so confused and apprehensive. Has anyone else experienced anything similar please?
