my son turned 3 in december and ever since then he has been HORRIBLY behaved. from the time he wakes up until he goes to bed. he’s constantly hyper, always telling me no, screams bloody murder, and has started hitting again (he used to do it maybe a year ago but it stopped for a long time so i thought he was done w that phase). if i tell him he can’t have chips or cookies for breakfast, he’ll scream as loud as he can and hit me over and over again. i’ll walk him to his room and tell him he’s in time out and close the door. often times, he’ll laugh at me and walk right back out of his room. he just laughs at me when i discipline him. we live in a second story apartment and he’ll scream & stomp around even being told to stop multiple times. i’m not proud to say it but on a couple of occasions, i’ve had to swat his butt as i tried gentle parenting, sternly telling him no, time out and none of it worked. i also have an almost 6 month old so i’m postpartum and this has been really hard for me to handle. their dad thinks he (3 yr old) is misbehaving out of jealousy but he has always gotten more attention because he’s a super wild kid. it’s gotten to the point, i get so irritated from him laughing in my face while i’m disciplining him or hitting me that i have to walk away or i’m on the verge of tears 😔
