Does early period means early menopause?

I was 8 when I officially started my period.. when i was 7 i saw a bit of blood but it stopped. Then when i was 8 i regularly got my cycle every month. But is it true that the earlier you start your period in life the earlier you go the faster you go into menopause? Bc that would honestly really suck? Can someone explain or tell me if this is true? (preferably a gynaecologist maybe)

More likely than not but it depends go have your levels checked to see where your at so you can plan accordingly. If you need to harvest and freeze eggs now so you can have children later or for your gynecological reasons. At least you will have a baseline test and can monitor it from time to time.

There are other factors, it isn’t a definitive. I started at 11, my mother went through early menopause and given my high FSH levels, symptoms and cycles early menopause is very likely.

From what im aware there was a study done that showed women who got their first cycle before 11 (under 10 is rare and unfortunately most girls younger have been through some form of sexual trauma in childhood to staft their period - im hoping its not the case for you <3 ) - were 80% likely to experience premature menopause. This means before the age of 40.
