My son brought home a brochure for space camp during spring break. It's $100 for 4 days at camp. My son has autism and doesn't do well in new places. He tends to get overwhelmed and he's known to pee the bed overnight in new places or have bad dreams. All his friends are going with is partly why he wants to go but he also loves science. I know part of helping my son become independent is letting him experience new things but I'm not sure he's ready for that yet. He hasn't even spent the night at a friend's house. Only family. This seems like a big leap for him. He does love science and space so I can see how it COULD be fun for him but I imagine so many things going wrong.
