Induced labor?

Hey ladies has any mamas had an induced labor. I would like to know the pros and cons !

I liked knowing what was going to happen and when. I personally had a good induction process it was just a long process. They start with giving you a pill to soften your cervix if you're not dilated enough. I wasn't contracting consistent enough so I was given pictocin which sucks. After that started contractions were very intense so I got an epidural and had my son 6 hours later.

I was induced with my first. Everyones experience is different of course. My friend was induced and ended up in an emergency c section. Pros: Set date/time. Mine went super smooth becausei was already dilated to almost a 4 and 85% effaced. They gave me pitocin and eventually broke my water and I had my daughter in about 12 hours with no issues. Cons: Pitocin contractions are absolutely terrible. My pain level was so high that I was stalling my own labor. But i tried to do it with no epidural. Finally got an epidural at 7 cm and the rest was super smooth.  It'sall about your goals/vision for your labor. Induction makes your birth very medical and can often lead to more medical interventions being necessary.

Both of my children were induced with cytotec. I never needed pitocin and all I have are pros. It’s nice getting to calmly go to the hospital, fill out paperwork, meet and chat with your nurse, discuss birth plans, etc. It was 22 hours start to finish with my first and 11 hours with my second. At this point I’ll admit I’m kind of afraid to go into labor spontaneously with this one because I had such good experiences with the other 2. 😆Both times were because I went over my due date by a week so we’ll see if this baby needs a push to start like his siblings.
