Things to watch this Holocaust Remembrance Day
On 27th January we remember the people that were murdered from 1941-1945 including 6 million Jews. It also happens to be the anniversary of the liberation Auschwitz. Things to remember this Holocaust Remembrance Day. The number of Jews in the world still hasn’t reached pre Holocaust numbers meaning we still haven’t recovered. Jews are consistently the most targeted religious community in the U.S despite only making up 2.4% of the population of US and only 0.2% of the population of the world. About a fifth of Americans believe that the Holocaust may not have happened. 11 percent of Millennials and Gen Z surveyed feel the Jews caused the Holocaust. Approximately half (49 percent) of U.S. Millennials and Gen Z have seen Holocaust denial or distortion posts on social media or elsewhere online.
