When should a toddler should start talking ?

Hello! Baby boy of 1 y and 10 months. Still only uses 3-4 words such as mom , dad, brum brum for car and pretty much thats it. Is it normal ? Other toddlers already i see they make frazez.

My oldest didn't say anything before he was close to 2,5 years old. But he understood complex questions and followed 2-3 step instructions. When he finally started talking it was full sentences.

Around 2 is when most kids have a word explosion.
My daughter didn’t say more than 3-4 verbal words (she had about 10-15 words in asl) until 24m. From 24-26m, she went from those few words to 300+ words. 
Also, know what counts as a word. 
The milestone for your child’s age is 10 words. 
You can always look into early intervention and have your child evaluated for peace of mind.

Every child is different. My oldest son barely talked till around 3. My son is in 6th grade now doing 12 grade work. My son is very intelligent. My youngest son just turn 2 a few weeks ago. His doctor is freaking out because he only says 3 words. He shakes his head now if he doesn't like something. He understands pretty much everything when I talk to him. If you're worried take your child to a speech therapist.
