How was the experience was it painful?

I did. With all 3 of my kids. 
My first 2: one at 37 + 4 other at 38 + 1. 4cm dilated when I went in… Went in at 5am, started pitocin at 6am. Both babes came at noon so quick , no epidural, fast processing. 
This 3rd baby though…. 37 weeks .. 3 cm dilated when I went in at 8pm .. they started with a pill to soften my cervix overnight. The contractions were intenseeeeee and back to back. But literally was not helping me dilated. They started the pitocin at like 6am. Dilation started moving a little more but the contractions were painful by 1:20 they checked me again. I was only at a 7 - 8 and couldn’t take the pain anymore. Asked for the epidural. About 20 mins later they came in and started it and as he was trying to put the epidural in I literally was pushing her out. Immediately after he said done, they swung my legs up and I had her…
Sooo the inductions weren’t bad and were successful but 1. Know the plan they decide to take. 2. Prepare your body as much as possible before you go in. Walking a lot, sex, exercise positions. 3. Don’t wait til you’re at an 8 to get the epidural 😂

I had an induction yesterday, got the epidural at 3cm bc i was ready to nap😂. I did feel some contractions when the epidural wore off in between dilation but they weren't bad it was just pressure. I napped thru the whole process. I got my last dose of epidural at 9cm and i felt absolutely nothing while pushing. I didn't know she was crowning until my dr told me😂i had a positive experience but then again everyone's bodies are different! Good luck!
