MICE HELP

I need advice. I have noticed and heard a few mice around my house. We have killed a few but they keep coming back. My house isnt messy but its not perfect. Sometimes dishes dont get washed for a few days but there isnt like food left out or anything. I cant afford an exterminator. And they are getting pretty bad. I can sometimes hear them in the ceiling or walls. My house is kind of cluttered and I know they like to hide behind shelves and toys. Im at my witts end. Ive tried peppermint spray and oil. Im going to buy some traps when i get paid but what else can I do?

Try to find out how they’re getting in, traps with peanut butter, keep all food in airtight containers, declutter, get a cat

If you like animals cats are great at catching them and killing them! And having a new furry friend is a plus too😊

Not trying to scare you, but I bought multiple traps just for my small place and kept killing them, but they multiplied so fast that pretty quickly I had dozens, and thats just what I could find. You have to empty out all closets, cupboards etc anywhere they can nest, and figure out how they got in. See if an exterminator can set up a monthly payment plan, or get a cat....ASAP because once they multiply, youll have a nightmare.

Traps (use peanutbutter so they cant knock off the bait) keep your place immaculate so they only eat the bait on the traps (it sucks, i know), block up any crannies/holes in the house with steel wool so they cant get in/get off of one floor of the house. Seal up all your food in airtight containers. Put peppermint oil anywhere you store food/ edible trash. Mice are the WORST. You have to kill them off one by one—it suuuucks. We had a pretty bad infestation a few years ago (lthe neighbor passed away, no one was managing the estate and then her mouse problem became our mouse problem), and it took weeks of neurotic upkeep to get rid of them all.

Not alot to do apart from mouse traps and trying to keep things clean.. my mum and dad also have the same problem at the moment.

It’s a little more… graphic but it’s been used for centuries. But can you get a cat? we had a mouse problem in my first appt and got a cat and BOOM. problem solved. She was able to “take care” of them and also sniffed out a lot of their entry points so we could patch them up. we’ve had a mouse or two in our current house but the cats have sniffed them out before it’s gotten bad.
