How do you put your 4-5 months baby to sleep?
My daughter is almost 4 months old and she is struggling to fall asleep (as many babies do). I keep reading about sleep training by all those sleep training advisors but I am looking for something gentle, respectful and gradual. My daughter won’t go to nap or night sleep easily - she is fighting falling asleep. There is a lot of cries and fighting which last however up to 10-15 mins. I always have to keep her in my arms to rocket gently and shush. I do put her in the crib (bassinet is already quite small) while she is drowsy but I have to bring her to this “drowsy condition” in my arms and this is the period when she is crying and fighting. I feel like she does not like to be in the arms or being shushed or rocked gently - I tried multiple times keeping her in the crib and just do reading, massaging her and singing but she would just stay up and after some time may get either super crunky and fussy making it very difficult for me to put her to sleep or will start crying at some point but not falling asleep unless I take her and rocket and shush. She is a big baby - she is almost 7 kg. I am already having issues with my back (and quite a pain in my lower back) by lifting her up and I am not excited at all of the time when she will be 10 kg or more…I guess my question is more about - how to do get your baby to drowsy condition within reasonable time (let’s say under 30 mins) without rocking or holding in your arms ?
