Quick question ladies 😩

My old cars motor blew and I had to get a new car. The sales tax to get my car tagged is $2k and I just havnt had that being a single mom so my temp tags are expired and I got pulled over the other day (cop was an ass) I got a ticket but said no amount just a court date. I’m in Missouri and was just curious on what happens during court and if I’ll just get a fine or what. I was waiting until tax time to tag it which I will have my tags before my court date so I can at least prove that I have them now.
