My baby's umbilical cord just fell off today but it's wet and pops out like that. He's our first baby so unsure what it's supposed to look like. And what should we do about it?

My 11 days old had exactly the same, and that is called umbilical granuloma. What our pediatrician told us is to clean the umbilical cord, put a tiny bit of salt on it, wait 20 minutes and clean again. We did that twoce a day for two days and it is perfect now. I was sceptical when she told us that but you just google this condition and you will see that treatmennt with salt is pretty common. That was our case but better talk with your health care provider.
