Retained placenta 3 months postpartum?

Hi ladies I know this may be sound crazy but is it possible for pieces of placenta to come out 3 months postpartum? I just got my first period today and it’s been heavy. And when I went to the restroom something big came out but it wasnt like a blood clot it was like a white thing that couldn’t easily tear (sorry for the TMI). I’m just a little worried because blood clots I do get but not that. Any suggestions as what it could be ?

I had a piece come out around 7 weeks pp. it legit looked like a brain and it was hard. I removed it from the toilet, put it in a bag and called my OB. He was not at all concerned about it happening even though it’s dangerous for left over placenta to be hanging out. Everything was fine though!

With my third, my bleeding slowed down a lot postpartum and got very very light, but never fully resolved 100%. At 6 weeks postpartum, I passed a large amount of blood with clots and thought it was my first period (my first pp period came at 3 months pp with my first and 6 weeks pp with my second). I got worried though by the amount of blood and called my OB. US showed retained placenta and I had a D&C the next day.
It’s not common to not be noticed for so long, but it does happen. My OB said some women will even get pregnant again with some leftover placenta from the previous pregnancy still in there (which is not good).
I’m not saying that this is what you have, but may be worth giving your OB a call.
