We have been considering adding a 3rd fur baby to your family. We currently have a Staffie and Golden Retriever lab mix. My daughter is 4, and has been asking for a smaller play mate. Our bigger dogs are gentle and do try to interact / play with her, but she wants a smaller cuddle buddy. I’ve never wanted a small breed dog, but we went to an acquaintances house who has a Boston terrier. I completely forgot about that breed, honestly. And my daughter loved him. Not gonna lie, I did too. Lately she’s been telling that if she can get a puppy, she wants one just like that.

So I have been looking into the breed. I’ve never bought a purebred dog before, and I know some breeds are prone to health issues. I am a bit concerned that Bostons or Frenchtons are highly prone to some major ones…. I was hoping for some feedback on long term Boston owners? Do they almost all end up with eye issues and seizures? And I would also love any feedback / opinions just on the breed in general for a family :)
