Is it okay to wear a red dress to a wedding? (As a guest)

I’m invited to a wedding and there’s a particular dress that I really like. It comes in a very light pink color and red as well. I think the light pink is inappropriate as it can be “confused” with white, but I don’t see why red should be a problem. I googled it and I couldn’t find a straight answer whether it is okay or not. I’m planning on asking the bride too if she would have a problem with me wearing red, but I would still appreciate some opinions from other people. Thanks!
