Do you burp your baby

Question

So since having my son, ive always burped him per feed, but i got reading that burping a baby isnt really neccessary. Most times i burp my baby he cries and gets worked up during been burped. On internet i read on some pages, it says burp, some says dont burp and some say only if baby looks uncomfortable after a feed. Everything baby related is always contradicted so its hard to know im doing right. Now im just curious what others do

I burped my kids from newborn until they could begin sitting up. Which was about month 5 for mine.

We only burped once done breastfeeding and it was only for the first 2-3 months. 
My bottle fed son we burped for longer because he swallowed more air at the bottle than our breastfed kid. 
We don’t force a burp. We give it a try and if it doesn’t happen pretty quickly, we stop.

Always burp baby or baby will get a bellyache which will be miserable for you both

Definitely burp the baby, at least until they’re 5-6 months. It reduces the risk of gas bubbles, bellyaches, and vomiting after a feeding. If the baby is taking a bottle at all, we’ve always tried burping them half way through & then again once they finish the bottle. If not halfway through, then definitely after they finish.

We didn’t burp, it would make my daughters reflux 1000000x worse. She’d scream after feeding everytime. When we stopped it got significantly better and when we added reflux meds, it went away completely.
