My little guy Milo made his arrival 2/13/2024!
Just a little background as to why i was induced: I had Chronic High Blood pressure going into this pregnancy. I also had severe pre-eclampsia with my last pregnancy. So the plan from the get go was induce at 39 weeks. Fast forward to 36 weeks and even though my blood pressure was well maintained all pregnancy we started to struggle with it. So ultimatley we decided that a 37 week induction was happening. I was dilated to a 1 and not thinned at all so I went home and for the.next 3 days I bounced on a yoga ball, walked, did my usual workouts, and drank 1 cup.of rasberry leaf tea each day. Monday, February 12th, we went in at 8a.m. to start my induction. Suprisingly, I was dialated to a 3 and about 80% thinned. We started cytotec at 10a.m. I continued to just hang out. Walked some. Used the birthing ball. Did 1 more round of cytotec at 3p.m. was still sitting at a 3 and 80% thinned. So then at 5p.m. we started the lovley potocin. And at 8p.m. I decided to go ahead and get my epidural. Now I had been having contractions for 2 months straight so at this point contractions werent bothering me, but I knew I wanted the epidural for delievery so I decided to get it before the Anesthesiologist went home for the night. After the epidural, my nurse places me in different positions with the peanut ball and has planned to switch positions every hour in hopes to get little guy the rest of the way down and help with dialation. I get check at 10p.m. and dialated to a 5. Slowly my contractions start getting closer together and my nurse comes and checks me at 12:30a.m. I was at a 6 and almost completley thinned out. She puts me in a position called modified welchers position. At 1:20a.m. i was uncomfortable and was like let me call the nurse to change positions. Then it hit me I felt like I needed to poop and I knew what that meant. So my husbands wakes up to me saying I really need to poop. Nurse says let me check I doubt you are ready. She checks and her eyes got HUGE she said okay I am calling the doctor and we will prep your stuff. Whatever you do DO NOT PUSH. Like ummm okay im trying not to but my body is doing its own thing. Doctor arrives at 1:48a.m. and I push for 5 minutes and little man made his arrival. Weighting 5lbs 13oz and 19 inches long. Postpartum was hard. I ended with really bad scary high blood pressure and was on 2 24 hour magnesium drips. Which are the worst. Came home on a lot of medication and still am. But Milo and I are doing alright now and his 2 big sisters are over the moon to have him. He definitely completes are litlle family<3
