Maternity leave and career

Serene

What is your experience with taking maternity leave in your career? I have taken one (for 2 months) in 2023 when i had birthed my baby. But it is constantly spoken of by my manager in a negative context as in "it was one of 2023's business challenges". My baby is almost 1 year old and now that i feel like im ready to have my second im constantly drawn back by fear and anxiety and feel like i wont be seen as "driven" enough. Im also dreading going to my manager and telling him that i could be having another child and need to go on 2 months maternity leave. I know it might seem a little silly that im thinking about this as an obstacle towards planning my life but i have a good career and i want to have one as long as i can. I would love some input from you strong mamas!
