I’m so tired

D.J.W.

Can anyone help me? I haven’t struggled with acne until this point in my life. I don’t know where to even begin. I use hyaluronic acid as well as niacinamide. I use a liquid exfoliator twice a week. I was my cash once or twice a day with Bibble gentle cleanser. And I drink a lot of water. What else can I do? What could be the cause?

As an acne prone person for many years, niacinamide always breaks me out worse and hyaluronic acid really does nothing for me. The products that I found to be the most helpful are PanOxyl 10% benzyl peroxide cleanser 2x a day, I follow that with the panoxyl oil controlling moisturizer mixed with a little bit of pure shea butter. At night I do the same cleanser, then Differin gel as an all over the face serum, and a layer of just the Shea butter. Also, make sure you're keeping your pillowcases clean and keep your hair clean or pulled away from your face as much as possible.

I think you need to go easy on the exfoliation also try going to a dermatologist and get a prescription doxycycline oral for about a month, it might get better by then, if it still doesn’t work try isotretinoin tabs oral. Use clindamycine and adaphalene gel pm, if it’s too irritating put it on and wash off after 3 hrs ish. Try limiting your exfoliation to once a week also consult an obgyn for pcos

Try to change your diet and drink home made juice. I struggled with acne and bad skin for years, wasn’t so bad, but still. Cosmetology, antibiotics, nothing helped, I think it made it even worse. I started eating healthy, cooking at home every day. Now I have pretty clean skin.

I always had clear skin until I became an adult. I’m now 40 and am slowly learning more about my hormones and my food intolerances. I’ve found that food has more influence on my skin than any topical products. Have you ever thought about taking a food intolerance test or doing a food journal? I find dairy is a big cause of my skin issues. It also causes other issues but the skin issue is one. I think it can also be linked to GI, microbiome issues, etc. Check out “Fast Like a Girl” also and see if the fasting for hormonal balance would be something you’d be willing to do. I have jumped into that without any intermittent fasting first and the results were amazing. The fasting addresses the GI and microbiome issues.

I used to struggle with pretty bad acne myself, until I stopped using products with salicylic acid and switched to washing my face with African black soap. No other creams or lotions or medicated washes required, just the soap and bam! The acne I struggled to get rid of was suddenly gone. I do recommend using a gentle moisturizer with shea in it after washing. I use the soap daily when I wash my face in the shower so I moisturize afterwards. That way there's no overcompensation from my pores for the oils that the soap stripped away.Anyway, that's my personal suggestion based on experience. I never had to visit a dermatologist, change my diet, or go out of my way to fix my acne after I switched soaps and ditched the medicated products. But everyone is different and has different skin, so what works for you may also be different. I hope you can find something that works for your skin!

What you need to do is go see a dermatologist to check your skin and come up with a treatment plan curated for you. They are able to prescribe you things you cannot buy over the counter and they actually work. Also go get your hormones tested to see if everything is okay. Is there anything in your environment that could be contributing to your skin? food intolerances you don’t know about? Excessive consumption of dairy? Are you washing your pillow case frequently enough?
