Work from home jobs, or part time job ideas
I’m curious about what others do for full time / part time remote jobs, or even part time jobs put in the work force? Preferably in Indiana as that’s where I’m based out of.
We have a 4 year old: i went back to work full time when she was 6 weeks old. And I know it feels like it’s probably too late now, but I’ve hated how much I’ve missed out on with her, and I am so tired of constantly being stressed from having to choose between a mom, and a good employee. I will always be a mom first. But that always results in me worried about losing my job, being behind at work and putting others behind, or worried about my boss’ being upset with me. They are pretty flexible but the stress is always there.
For a while now I’ve wished I could find something part time, maybe 4-5hours a day or even just a few days a week, to help supplement our income and also get to be a more involved mom. Every job I’ve had has been super reliant on me being constantly available: I’ve never had coverage and me being out really messes things up. Finding something that it’s ok if I’m out and doesn’t negatively impact others would be amazing. Something remote would be even better; I could do it at night or early in the morning (I wake up between 4-5 now anyways). But it’s hard finding companies or jobs that really are legitimate.
I’m just really curious what others do, especially moms.
I entered the work force full time at 19. No college degree but just kept building off experiencing and working my way up wherever
I was. I started as a patient registrar at an urgent care clinic, then a local hospital. And then completely changed to an office assistant at a large utility vehicle rental company. That job was my favorite; I was there 7 years and working my way towards a territory director. But the company went through a buyout, and my position was going to be cut and they had nowhere else to move me. So I happened to find a job for a local furniture store, as an office admin, and I still really like it. I love what I do. The pay is great. I just feel more and more stressed when I need to be off bc my daughter is sick, or daycare is closed. Being a social media influencer is NOT for me, even though I know some people can make a genuine living off of it. I’d like to see what all others do, just to get some ideas of things to look into more.
