What do you say to your kid?

My 7yo daughter wanted to talk to me as I’m putting her to bed.. she’s like mommy I don’t feel safe with daddy can you drive us instead?

.. we have a 1yo so my 6&7yo are being driven by dad to afterschool activities..

I’ve caught him vape pot and he drinks quite heavily when we’re out or sometimes at home (2 bottles of wine)

She was saying that he doesn’t enforce seat belts and that he hits the curve often 😳

He wants to move out of the house we’re not legally married so I’m fine with that. The relationship’s been dead for years- when I asked him why he had the baby? - he’s like- bc I didn’t want you to have a kid with someone else!

Also he apparently tells the kids that mommy wants to kill him and put him to jail!! Not sure in which order lol- all this I file under severe brain injury and childhood trauma but that’s not an excuse and the kids are weirded out! I don’t want to throw him under the bus and tell them daddy’s bipolar/narcissistic. So I just said he must have been angry saying silly stuff that’s not true and that I’ll talk to him about his driving…

I have no family/friends to actually go to and leave so hope he’ll actually leave.. which I doubt greatly because this is not the first time he makes this threat!

What would you do in this case with the kids?ty
