First Pregnancy at 36
So I just found out I’m pregnant 2 days ago. I track my period like clockwork and truly thought my period was recalibrating because I was a couple days early my last few cycles and then I thought I was probably syncing up with my cousin because she has been staying with me the past couple of months. So after 3 days of being late and cramping I decided to go grab a dollar tree pregnancy test. I brought 2. The first one went positive in 10 secs. I giggled and was like just my luck, I got a defective pregnancy test cause ain’t no way this thing should have given a result that fast cause the box said 3 minutes. So I used the other one and set a timer and walked away. Welp positive. I laughed, trembled, and cried all in a span of 2 minutes. Overwhelmed with nervousness and excitement. My boyfriend is over the moon, I am too, but super nervous cause on list on accomplishments in life I’ve always wanted to be a mother, but as I hit my 30s I slowly saw that dream fading. I didn’t have the best track record with guys. I never really had pregnancy scare with any of my previous partners. My last situationship, he was not able to have kids, which he told me 2 years in, but he had the nerve to call me barren. I have tough skin, but him calling me barran really hit hard cause I was like maybe he was right. All these years and I have never gotten pregnant. I haven’t been on birth control since my late 20s. I’m hoping and praying to hit all the pregnancy milestones, have a safe and uncomplicated delivery, be truly blessed with a healthy baby.
