Went in to be induced on 4/9. I was already having contractions but wasn't feeling them. Started pitocin at 7pm, only 3cm. Contractions got more intense and by 11pm, I was needing to breathe heavily through them. Labored on the birthing ball for a few hours and made it to 7 cm on my own. Opted for the epidural around 3am which gave us an hour or so to rest. I started pushing at 5:35am and she was born an hour later at 6:35! Her shoulder got stuck and the nurse had to press down hard on my stomach to help her get out. Gave me a 2nd degree tear. Since she was late term, she had pooped in the womb and had breathed it in. They rushed her to the get the fluid out of her lungs and luckily was able to clear her airways. I labored for a total of 12 hours, which is 12 less than with my first! 7lbs 13oz and 21 inches long.
