Looking for hobby

I read manga and play video games (relaxing and claiming) games but I was thinking about doing something new I saw cute videos where someone was crochet a snake frogs etc now some reason now that’s all I can think about I would love to try it out but I’m worried that it could be to hard or just confusing I just don’t know where to start and i don’t want to put lot of money into crochet just in case it was to hard or confusing for me
