Husband tried to kill himself and now wants to quit his job

I'm pregnant with our 2nd child. I'm currently a sahm and am 35 weeks pregnant. My husband works as a Criminal Investigator and mainly handles SA cases. He was sitting in his car at a park drinking and slit his wrist. He was found by a jogger and taken to the hospital. I was crying in the hospital and all he did was tell me he can't do his job anymore. What led him to trying to kill himself was he had been working on a case involving a child and the person was found not guilty because of a technicality and my husband started wondering if anything he does actually makes a difference. He just wants to quit and that's an issue because I'm very pregnant. We need money. His boss reached out to him and they are offering to put him on something else for a while because they understand that those type of cases can be a lot and they don't like to keep people in that area too long without a break because it can become a lot. They also said they have resources to get him therapy so he doesn't have to quit but he seems set on leaving criminal justice all together. My mom thinks I need to give him time. He's in the hospital right now. Let him calm down. I hope it doesn't come off like I'm only worried about money or being a sahm. If I wasn't so close to birth I wouldn't mind finding a job so my husband could find other work. There are a lot of things I'm worried about.
