What does implantation/spotting look like?

I have never been pregnant so I need help knowing if I’m starting my period or not. FYI I do not have normal cycles which is why I am questioning.

There isn’t a lot of evidence that supports implantation causing vaginal bleeding, which isn’t what the intent and these forums wants us to believe. Any spotting or bleeding from the reproductive tract can look the same. If you’re bleeding around the time of an expected period, it’s highly unlikely it would be related to anything else, however, there are tons of different causes of spotting or bleeding outside of a period; cervical irritation, hormonal shift/imbalance, infection, STD’s, fibroids, polyps, vaginal tear/abrasion, cysts, etc. We can’t really determine the cause just by appearance, or even the amount, consistency, etc.

Spotting can happen for so many reasons. Its hard to say what is causing the spotting based on how it looks. All spotting is going to look similar regardless of what is causing it.
