Is a 23 mile commute (30-40 min drive one way) too much for a $65,000 salary?

I got offered a sales manager position with potential to grow and now people are discouraging me ….

Never been a manager and this is exciting but people are saying it’s not well paid considering I’m in LA

I don't know about the salary but if i had to do 30 mins of travelling and i had the chance of growing in the position.. then i would strongly think of accepting.. it can gain u experience and lead u on to better things later on.

I make 15 an hour and drive 40 minutes to work every day. I wouldn’t be so salty about it if I make 65k.

I would do it. About a 30 minute drive without traffic… About an hour with traffic? Maybe a little longer? I would do that.

I drove that far to catch a bus for another 10 minute ride, followed by a half mile walk for $38,000… I’d do it.  The average commute is about 40 mins so that doesn’t seem outrageous

I do that for half the salary 😅 but I’m not in la so idk if that’s an average around there? Also the traffic is a huge thing to consider is that 30 minutes without traffic? I feel like la is big on traffic. My drive is all back roads and the only place I hit traffic is basically right out front my work so it’s not a big deal but if you hit traffic and it turns your drive into 1+ hours that’s something to consider.

I live in a very small town with not a lot near by.. I’ve always had to travel 30 mins for any job I’ve ever had, regardless of the pay. I think a 30 min commute is pretty normal.
