I’m so anxious !! After YEARS of trying to conceive I found out I was pregnant 3 days before my 38th birthday <3 However, this was also a week before I was supposed to have surgery to have endometrial polyps removed from my uterus. I actually was going to freeze my eggs this year after the polyps were removed and begin IVF so this had been an amazing surprise and blessing!! I’ve been hesitant to get too excited because I have been spotting since April 10th. :(

My obg that was going to perform the surgery had me confirm with bloodwork that I was pregnant. My hCG level was only 362 and progesterone was an 8.1 (both very low). I was prescribed progesterone and advised to come back in a week for labs where hCG level went up to a 977. They advised that was good however *google* and looking at other posts about levels I am absolutely terrified with how low my hCG levels are. The start date of my last period was March 14th.

Also, due to still spotting (ranges from clear pink to bright red but doesn’t fill a panty liner) the doctor scheduled me to come in for an ultrasound May 7th although I am very early in the pregnancy—they want to see where the blood is coming from. I’ve been advised not to do any lifting, bending, squatting, reaching and no sex until the ultrasound and if the blood gets to where it fills a pad (like a period) to go to the ER.

Has anyone ever experienced anything like this or have any knowledge on what could be going on? I don’t know anyone personally who has gotten pregnant after 35 so decided to join this community <3
