How can a man be an asset to a woman if she have everything and he has nothing?

Hi,
I am wondering the above question bc a guy that I briefly dated last year is stating he is wanting me to be his partner as an asset and that he will marry his partner. 
However, he does not have too many assets that I can benefit from, but I have a lot and I explained to him the boundaries of us reconnecting as friends.
Is there a way he can be an asset to me?

What he's saying is he wants to benefit from everything you have to offer but he has nothing to offer to the partnership except love and marriage. All I can say is that if you do not have an exceptionally deep love for this man, don't get into this relationship. You will be supporting him until he is able to contribute and that will be an on and off cycle throughout the relationship. ￼
