How long does your newborn breastfeed for?

Most feeding sessions my newborn (4 weeks) only breastfeeds for 10-15 minutes total which seems way too quick. I worry that she’s not eating enough. We have her next doctor’s appointment soon so we’ll find out her weight soon. Just curious how long other newborns breastfeed in one session.

My daughter averaged 8-10mins and ate every 2hrs around the clock until weaned. She gained weight just fine. 
No need to watch the clock. Latch on demand or every 2-3hrs around the clock. The amount of time on the breast doesn’t matter too much. If babe is having 6+ wet diapers a day, they are getting plenty of milk. Always trust the diapers.

That's totally normal. Not all babies nurse at the same rate just like adults don't eat their food at the same pace. Some people can scarf down a three course meal in 5 minutes while others take an hour to eat a salad. It's exactly the same with babies, some are very efficient and can drain the boobs in 10 minutes while others like to take their time and enjoy their meal for 30-60 minutes.
