Suddenly not walking/ can't bear weight on leg
Does anyone have experience with one of your children seeming to hurt their leg out of nowhere and suddenly be unable to walk? Yesterday our 4 year old old son was doing fine in the morning, running around the house and playing. Then he was playing on the floor and went to stand up and his leg wobbled under him and he dropped to his knees. When he tried to get up he was limping badly and fell down crying. We ended up taking him to the ER when it was clear he wasn't going to "shake it off."
Several hours later and X-rays show no breaks, and no other issues with hip or leg. They sent us home on a regimen of Motrin and rest. He tried walking a little yesterday but couldn't do it without a bad limp. Today, he still won't walk and barely puts weight on it. It seems a LITTLE better but Dr. Google is freaking me out with the possibilities. I just wanted to see if anyone had experience with something like this where there was no obvious accident or injury, but their LO clearly was in pain and couldn't walk? What ended up happening?
