Growing anxious with age???
I'm unsure if there's a correlation or if it's even a relative factor so I'm wondering if anyone of you guys are experiencing this. As of a couple of years ago I started growing more anxious, I believe my high blood pressure is anxiety related.
The reason I'm wondering if it's me getting older (37) is because I live a very happy, stress free life so there's no plausible "trigger".
I get anxious while driving now, I used to love taking long trips but now the thought of me driving 50 minutes to the town away makes me get hives (fine as a passenger, not as the driver). I also have to drive through rivers and Cliffs, which again: anxiety.
Now this will sound so ludicrous but last weekend we took a trip and we had to cross a 876 foot bridge and I almost told my husband to stop and just go back. I had to change the song to something happy (I know! I sound crazy, and I'm a pretty sane person) and just powered through it. As we were crossing I was pushing away thoughts of the collapsed bridge in Baltimore. Honestly after we crossed it I just started praying, thanking God.
I'm wondering if you guys have experienced anything like this, my mom says that as we grow older we just realize how much we have to lose, so maybe???
I don't think it's bad enough to have to go on medication, but would like to hear if this is just a far fetched scenario or if you've gotten through it and how you coped.
